"These shoes are made using the Goodyear workmanship. It can't get any more artisanal! Every component is tailor-made by hand in our factory here in Moergestel. You can find the complete technical story about the Goodyear workmanship elsewhere on this site. If you read it you will find poetical terminology such as gemming, pointing, welting, skiving and Glätten. These make my shoemaker's heart beat faster. We have been making shoes like this for centuries. First completely by hand, and using machines since the industrial revolution. In addition to this special production method, these shoes have also been coloured by hand. On the back of the heel we've applied a pattern of jigsaw pieces using laser techniques. At the end of the production process the edge of the sole are coloured with a brush, dipped in a tub of dark brown stain. And no spilling! That tub of stain is about 30 metres away from the desk I'm typing this at right now, with a few walls in between. Making shoes.. that's our passion here :)."
