Van Bommel continuously reviews the organisation of its production processes and workplaces. Water-based adhesives and edge paints are used in the Dutch factory. Every production and office employee in the Netherlands receives individual ergonomic workplace instructions. Safety instructions have been drawn up for all machines and workstations in Dutch production. These are actively discussed with employees, reviewed periodically and adjusted where necessary.

During renovations in 2012, the Dutch shoe factory was fitted with additional roof insulation, double glazing and a heating and cooling system. Rainwater from the roofs of the Dutch factory and offices, as well as the car parks, is channelled into an on-site drainage pond. Van Bommel's Dutch premises are smoke-free. Van Bommel has an active anti-smoking policy and offers financial support and professional guidance to employees who want to quit smoking.
