“This shoe is finished with a piece of zig-zag rubber on the inside of the outsole. In previous seasons, we already added zig-zag lines to our collections. Zig-zag lines on the lining, on labels, printed on suede, on other soles… zig-zag everywhere. If you maintain this for a while, you create a consistent design language that will give your collection a recognizable signature look. “Oh really?”, I can almost hear you think, and I understand that. The point is that sooner or later people ask me “what it all means” or “where I got the inspiration from”. In this particular case, the zig-zag lines mean NOTHING. It’s just a fun shape on the sole. But people don’t want to hear that. So I say that I got my inspiration from the way from the pub back to my house that I walk on Saturday nights. Problem solved! And everybody’s happy again!”
