''Sometimes, when I’ve worked really hard throughout the year and then go on holiday, I treat myself to a business class plane ticket. One of the typical things you get when you're flying business class is a serving of ice cream after your meal. The stewardess’s cart is stacked with ice cream bowls and all kinds of extras you can sprinkle on top. You can pick and choose from nuts, fruit, cream, chocolate sauce, cherry sauce and one of those rolled up cookies. It always takes me a really long time to choose and I usually end up saying “a bit of everything please!”. The ice cream that I then get has inspired the leather for this shoe here. At the tanners, we basically said “give us a bit of everything you got”. First, the leather received a full colour striped pattern, on top of that it got a layer of metallic stripes printed in the same design, after that it went into a dust-free cabin for a shiny patent leather coating and then we printed a croco relief pattern onto it, adorning the tips of the croco print with a metallic finish. It’s funny: whenever I look at these shoes they give me the same kind of summer holiday feeling as that ice cream high up in the sky.''
